I attended the Great South Run in Southsea for the first time (not as a runner, I'd need to get in training for that!) and had a great time taking photographs of the event. I was very impressed by the organisation of the day (I had a friend running and was informed that it was well organised, as I've never ran in something like that I had to take her word for it) but it seemed to my untrained eye that things ran like clockwork. The weather was nice and warm, good running weather I was told and the atmosphere was fun and engaging – even to us non-runners!
I saw some really nice moments, friends helping each other over the finishing line, a Rhino and various other runners in fancy dress.
Lots of different charities were being represented on the day and according to the Visit Portsmouth website, over £30 million pounds have been raised since it started in 1990.
If you're considering taking part next year, more details can be found at the Great Run website
Here are a selection of my images from the day, I hope you like them!
